Rest in Peace: Dave Holland
Well it seems that it’s going to be another sucky year where all the great musicians we all listened to and loved are departing this world. I’m sad to say that former Judas Priest drummer, Dave Holland, who was with the band from 1979- 89 passed away last week, cause of death is still to be revealed. During his time with Priest, he played on some of their most classic albums like “British Steel,” “Screaming for Vengeance” and “Defenders of the Faith.” FFI go to: https://www.udiscovermusic.com/news/judas-priest-dave-holland-dies/
Rest in Peace Dave!

I hesitate to post anything for Holland. His arrest and jailing pretty much ended my support of him. I love the music.

I choose to be Switzerland when it comes to rock stars that were great musicians but were awful people.

This is a conundrum. What he did was terrible but he was such a fantastic drummer.

I really liked his stuff with Trapeze. My buddy Rob always said “He’s a funk drummer — his stuff with Trapeze fit better than with Priest” and I think that made me listen to him in a new way.

Out of respect, I will listen to some Trapeze.

Just listened to that song and I think your buddy Rob is right. I like the boogie jazz feel to it.

I don’t know how much Trapeze you know, but I think you would really enjoy their stuff — Medusa is an amazing song that Glenn covered with Black Country Communion.

Actually, you introduced me to them. I will have a listen to them more as I liked that first song.
